Gabrielle Emery (B.A., LLB, LLM) is an experienced climate, disaster and humanitarian legal and policy specialist. For the past seven years she has led the Disaster Law team for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in Asia Pacific.
She has worked with governments, parliamentarians, academia and grass roots actors on adoption and implementation of disaster risk management and climate change adaptation laws in over half of all countries in Asia Pacific and has been deployed to support humanitarian diplomacy and access in various emergency settings.
Originally from New Zealand, Gabby has also served as the policy and advocacy manager for New Zealand Red Cross, and as an advisor on development and humanitarian issues for the New Zealand Government in the United Nations in New York.
